                       isonzo d.o.c.

la zona D.O.C. Isonzo - FVGThe “Isonzo” D.O.C. region is one of the Friulan plain’s most interesting.
In the last decade many of its producers, without a doubt being inspired by the example of the Isonzo’s “big brother, the Collio region, have focused on improving their wines so as to arrive at their present high quality.
This flat belt of the Isontine plain between the Carso and the Judrio River extends southward from the Collio (the Hill Region) and includes the towns of Gradisca d’Isonzo, Romans d’Isonzo, Villesse, San Pier d’Isonzo, Turriaco, Medea, Moraro, Mariano del Friuli and portions of the towns of Cormòns, Capriva del Friuli, San Lorenzo Isontino, Monfalcone, Mossa, Gorizia, Fogliano-Redipuglia, Sagrado, Farra d’Isonzo, Savogna d’Isonzo, Ronchi dei Legionari, San Canzian d’Isonzo and Staranzano.

The DOC ISONZO region includes over 1.300 hectares of specialised cultivation.
