Welcome
to our web-site and our firm!
A few words welcoming you to take part in
our
family. Our strength is
our
work team.
Together
we have
created
a working
agricultural
facility
which
is the pride
of
our D.O.C.
region.
From the
time
my father
and I began our “adventure”, we have, with dedication
and sacrifice, acquired the best terrain, carefully selected clones
and vines, built a winery essential to our producing high quality
wines.
My
family is the secret of my success. Davide
and Nicola, my sons have joined the firm with passion and a strong
sense of responsibility, continuing the traditions we have already
established, while bringing their new experience and ideas.
People
say that I have an instinct for choosing good collaborators.
Certainly there’s Daniele Zimolo, also known as “my
right arm”, who from a young age has worked beside me and
whose dedication to the vineyard is without substitute.
Michela Sfiligoi, “my left arm”, with us since 1995,
who has been responsible for all of the commercial and promotional
ideas and sales strategies by communicating our brand’s spirit
and quality to our clients.
All of my collaborators should be mentioned because they are all
important and indispensable to the growth of the Lorenzon firm.
I’ll end with a virtual toast, inviting you in person to visit
and drink a glass of our wine together!
Alla
salute!
Enzo Lorenzon
Michela Sfiligoi
has worked for the firm since 1995. She is the commercial and marketing
director. With Enzo she has created and developed the two brands
of wine which today are sold world wide. She works side by side
with agents and importers in the promotion and sales of the firm’s
wines. It is by her initiative that the name “Sovran”
has been proposed to the regional authorities to substitute for
“Tocai”, the nomenclature which in the future shall
be reserved exclusively by Hungarian wines. Her office is staffed
by Lara, Virna, Agnese, Michela, Elisa.
Nicola Lorenzon, graduate
in accounting, started out in the firm working in the vineyard.
He first collaborated with Daniele, and then acquired the orchard
at Romàns d’Isonzo in 1995.
It is through these first experiences that he understands the working
conditions and problems which Daniele and Davide face everyday in
the vineyard, and thereby is able to more effectively deal (by his
father’s request) in the firm’s corporate administration.
He is responsible for managing relations with the firm’s suppliers
as well as the firm’s accounting.
Davide Lorenzon, graduate
in enology at Cividale del Friuli’s “Istituto di Agraria
Paolino d’Aquileia” has been involved in winemaking
since an early age. He currently manages the winery and is the technician
responsible for the quality of the wines produced by the Azienda
Agricola Lorenzon. Ranieri Colledan collaborates with him in the
role of enotechnician.
Currently producing 12.000 hectolitres of wine annually, they together
have the ambition of augmenting production to a level of a million
bottles per year. All of this while maintaining the highest quality
typical of the best known Friulan wineries. From February 2000 a
"re-entry" is devoted to the bottling and to the shipping:
Luca Bergamasco. During the two months of the grape harvest, sixth
year enology students at Cividale’s “Istituto Agraria”
are invited to participate in a work-learning experience.
Daniele Zimolo has collaborated
with the firm since the age of 19. He knows every vine and piece
of terrain as well if not better than Enzo. He directs the cultivating
and harvesting of all the vines at Cassegliano and San Canzian d’Isonzo,
as well as of the seedlings and orchards.
Since 1999, the vineyards and orchards at Romans d’Isonzo
are under the supervision of Nicola Vecchiato.
They are assisted full time by specialised workers and tractor operators.
During pruning, bowing, and harvest time the firm employs many part-time
workers.
The farm implements and vehicles are supervised by Luca Alessio,
our mechanic.
